Eagle-eyed travellers often look for flight deals based on if the airline has a pet purchasing option. They are giving you the chance to purchase a space for the animal onboard. Passengers can fly with their pet aboard Oman Air with a pet and their belongings up to a maximum of 75 kg. This is a bonus with Oman Air, as most airlines won't make space for bigger animals. Passengers can also put up to two animals of the same species into one kennel, which makes it easier for transport and is good for the animal companionship on board. Just remember that the kennel can't weigh over 14 kg, no matter what the age. If your animals are younger than 6 months, you can put three in one kennel, as long as the kennel doesn't weigh over 14 kg.
If the pet you are bringing on board is larger than that, try and ensure you do not feed the animal at least 2 hours before the departure time, as only in an emergency can they be fed on board the aircraft, and they won't refund your ticket if you ask them before you get onto the flight. Try to have the pet used to the kennel for about five days before departure, because if the pet is your family, you want it to stay calm and comfortable for the flight.
Certain countries will not permit your pets to travel with you on the aircraft itself; it's just part of your shipping your animals as cargo. Wherever you plan on going with your animals, be sure to contact Oman Air customer service to ask about the charges for you and your pet(s) to travel together.
